A world builder in your browser

Build your Fantasy World

Map the land your campaign plays in, the continent your novel crosses, or an island for a geography lesson. Sketch the coast, paint forests and deserts, raise mountains and let rivers find their own way, then fly over it all as a living 3D map, with towns, roads and travellers, by day and by night.

Drawing The Jade Isles

A warm archipelago: jungle and palm beaches, green-rock peaks, a smoking volcano, towns with pagodas and castle keeps, and busy sea lanes.

How it works

From a sketch to a world

  1. 1

    Draw

Coastlines, forests, deserts and mountain ranges on a flat map, like sketching on parchment. Trace over a map image of your own if you already have one.

  2. 2

    Shape

Raise hills, lower valleys and level plateaus with the sculpting brushes, on the flat map or right on the 3D one.

  3. 3

    Explore

Fly over it in 3D: towns built to their size and style, rivers and roads, ships at sea, lit windows by night, rain and drifting clouds.

What you can put on the map

Everything a world needs

Land and climate

Pine, broadleaf and dead forests, jungle and palm groves, deserts and black dunes, savannah, swamps, snow, ice and farmland.

Mountains

Ranges drawn along their ridge, single peaks and smoking volcanoes, passes through them, canyons and cliffs.

Water

Lakes, and rivers you draw yourself or start at a source and let find their own way down to the sea.

Towns and roads

Towns, fortresses and landmarks in different styles, ruins, and roads that take the easiest way from place to place.

Borders and lettering

Kingdoms' borders, names lettered onto the map, and markers with notes that open when they're clicked in 3D.

Life on the map

Wagons, riders and caravans on the roads, trade ships and fishing boats, animals in the wild, lanterns after dark.

Who it's for

A world for every story

The map of Erilea and the Southern Continent in 3D

Made with the same map

Erilea

The world of Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass, from the Frozen Wastes to the Southern Continent, with the story's events placed where they happen, book by book, so later books don't give anything away. Its capital Rifthold can be visited up close, glass castle and all.

Your world is waiting
